A Ferro Fire Starter Rod is a fire starter tool used by outdoor enthusiasts, campers, hunters, preppers, hikers ect.

First, you’ll need to gather tinder. Find anything that will ignite quickly like the (bonus tinder included), Good choices include pine needles, bird nests, dry grass, hair, leaves, even fine steel wool. You should also collect wood of various sizes to keep your fire burning after starting.
For best results scrape some of the black coating off the rod. (See above picture)
Slowly scrape some shavings of the ferro rod onto your gathered tinder. Then hold the fire starter rod close to the tinder and pile of shavings. Very important, hold the scraper at a 45 degree angle then “pull back” on the rod instead of forward with the scraper.
