Magnesium is a solid combustible material and is not highly flammable. Magnesium ignites at around 800 degrees Fahrenheit and burns much hotter.
If using wooden matches or a lighter you need about 2-4 seconds of direct contact. When using this method make a small, pyramid shaped mound and make sure the flame is in direct contact with the smallest, thinnest slivers or spirals of magnesium. If there is wind, position the flame so that the wind blows it onto the magnesium. Once ignited stir the magnesium with a stick or your striker to add
Please use common sense and good judgement when using this and all fire starting products.
Do not use indoors.
Be Safe, and practice makes perfect. Always have a plan to quickly
extinguish your fire. Attempting to extinguish burning magnesium
with sand is a good idea, water is not.
Please keep away from children.
