ESEE Knives 3P-MB Fixed Blade Knife w/Molded Polymer Sheath & MOLLE Back (Black Blade/Coyote Brown Sheath)
ESEE Knives 3P-MB fixed blade knife with Grey Linen Micarta scales and a Black molded sheath. Drop point blade features a full tang of hard-working 1095 carbon steel with protective Black powder coat non-reflective finish. Removable linen micarta scales over red liners are secured to the tang that comes to a very slight point. Includes a coyote brown molded polymer sheath with drainage port, paracord and cord lock, molle back nylon sheath, clip plate and hardware. Made in USA. Carbon steel knives are preferred by those who want a sharp, long-lasting edge. Our carbon steel knives are made from 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for – especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user’s responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.

About Survival Knives

When your existence depends on them, survival knives are made to handle difficult conditions. They are tough use tools and can be put to work for cutting, pulling objects apart, carving, self-defense, and lots of other tasks. The ESEE Knives 3P-MB Fixed Blade Knife w/Molded Polymer Sheath & MOLLE Back (Black Blade/Coyote Brown Sheath) can potentially be used as a survival knife in certain situations.

Parts of a Knife

The primary parts of the knife are the blade, hilt, grip, tang, and pommel or butt. The tang is the piece of metal that runs the whole length of the knife from pommel to point. The pommel or butt is at the rear of the knife (end toward the cutter when held commonly in hand).

Fixed Blade VS Folding Survival Knives

There are several different types of knives including fixed blades and folding knives. Fixed blades are normally much better for heavy-duty cutting jobs. The durability of the blade helps the cutter control the knife edge better, and the blade usually holds up better over the long run. Common fixed blade knives include full-length hunting knives, camping knives, battle knives, and sushi knives. Folding knives are more compact than fixed blade knives and easily carried in a pocket for every-day-carry (EDC). The method of how the blade folds into the handle makes it a practical choice for smaller pocket knives.

ESEE Knife Blade Care and Maintenance

ESEE knives must be cared for and maintained appropriately to optimize their useful life as a cutting tool. Attempt to keep the knife blade dry and away from water whenever possible. Blade upkeep consists of periodically sharpening the edge with a grinder, diamond, or whetstone sharpener and rubbing the blade down with a light coat of oil. Make sure the edge is devoid of any chips or nicks and deburr any deformities.

Knife Laws and Bladed Weapon Carry Regulations

A large number of states, regions, and areas have regulations about wearing knives and bladed weapons. Some of these weapon associated laws may apply to the ESEE Knives 3P-MB Fixed Blade Knife w/Molded Polymer Sheath & MOLLE Back (Black Blade/Coyote Brown Sheath). The laws depend on things like the kind of knife, how the knife is carried, the blade length, and the areas where the knife is carried. When carrying a blade, there are a few general rules you can follow.

Be careful possessing knives which are concealed given that this classifies the knife as a concealed carry weapon (CCW). Some states have guidelines restricting particular things like blade lengths over 3 inches. For fixed blade knives, carry them on your belt when you are working outside, outdoor camping, hiking, or out adventuring in the outdoors.

For folding blade knives, again be careful of possessing folding blade lengths over 3 inches concealed. Look into getting a CCW license if your area or state requires it. Knives which use assisted opening abilities or automatic openers are generally limited.

Be careful possessing knives in locations around government buildings, educational institutions, and public gatherings. The majority of special events like sporting events, county fairs, and performances do not allow knives of any kind and security will confiscate them upon entry.
