The SURVIVE Survival Kit is what every hiker, camper or boater needs in their pack. It’s loaded with all the essential survival items needed in an emergency.
The 3 BASIC NEEDS in a survival situation are SHELTER, WATER and FOOD in that order. Humans can survive 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food in extreme conditions.
SHELTER: The EMERGENCY BLANKET provides a temporary shelter as either a blanket or a basic tent. 5 feet of paracord is included with the PARACORD KEYCHAIN to create a tent. Use the WIRE SAW to cut logs for a more permanent shelter. Other tools to assist in building a shelter are the FOLDING KNIFE and the MULTITOOL CARD.
WATER: As well as providing warmth for the shelter a fire can also be used to purify water. The FIRE STARTER is key for getting a fire going.
FOOD: The FOLDING KNIFE and TACTICAL PEN can be used as a weapon and the PARACORD as a trap to capture food. Locating and finding help is also CRUCIAL in a survival situation. Use the SIGNAL MIRROR, EMERGENCY BLANKET, WHISTLE, FLASHLIGHT and smoke from the fire to signal to rescuers. The COMPASS can be used for orienteering and navigation back to safety.
SIGNAL MIRROR – A CRUCIAL SURVIVAL COMMUNICATION ITEM
The Signal Mirror is a must have for any Survival Kit. The star precision aiming system makes it easy to signal to rescuers. It’s lightweight, compact and will work in overcast conditions. It’s virtually unbreakable and will float if dropped in the water. The Signal Mirror is most ideal for ocean sailers and boaters, and wilderness hikers to signal to airplanes, helicopters and other vessels in case of an emergency.
LIQUID FILLED COMPASS – PREFERRED FIELD COMPASS
Unique to the kit is the liquid filled compass. This lightweight compass has a 360 degree rotating bezel housing and durable clear base for easy map reading, navigation & orienteering. Multiple sighting lines make map reading easy. The measuring is in inches and mm, 1:25000 scale. A lanyard is also included.
